This piece of photography was taken by myself back in my hometown in Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia on 09/10/2010 . The tall white tower at the back of the lamp post is the Menara Alor Setar which operates as a telecommunication tower as well as a tourist spot and serve many other functionalities. The idea behind this photography is to play with the camera angle to create a surreal image of the lamp post being taller than the 165 m (541 ft) tower. I always consider good photography images as work of art and thus, for me, I regard this piece of image as my creative work.
The image above is the Putrajaya Mosque which is located in the Federal Territory of Putrajaya, south of the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. I took this picture while I was on a photography trip with friends. It is currently one of the world's most modern mosques and most probably the most famous tourist spot in Putrajaya. It is named after the first Malaysian Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. The mosque blends in various architectural styles such as Persia, Malaysia and Arab. The mosque can hold up to 10,000 worshippers at a time and faces the beautiful Putrajaya Lake. The surrounding landscape was design to create a fresh green atmosphere as there are plants all around the mosque complex. As I have been there myself, I would say that this mosque is a fine piece of modern architecture and resonates Malaysia's evolution in mosque designs.
One of the many photography trips I went with my friends is to the i-City, dubbed the City of Digital Lights. This place is located in Selangor, Malaysia. It is Malaysia's first lightscape tourism spot and serves as a state-of-the-art office complex. It also features shopping streets and vast options of cafes and restaurants. During night time, the place glows with beautiful lights of various colours coming from the modern LED trees all over the area and people will be going there to see the spectacular view the place has to offer at night time. This photo was taken using a lense with small aperture number to produce the lovely light patterns as can be seen above.
